Comment Love for February 2007
1.03.07 @ 7:16 amWith February 2007 in the books, it is time to post the numbers for Comment Love. There were 72 comments this month which ended up equaling $36.00. All $36.00 was donated to Carbonfund.org this month.
With this months contribution, we offset 18,598 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or the equivalent of 6.55 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund.org. So far, we have offset nearly 20 tons of C02 and close to 60,000 miles. All from one humble blog. We still have no hit the $50 cap - remember, all you need to do is comment. We seem to be at a $35-ish glass ceiling. Here’s to breaking that ceiling next month.
Thanks again to everyone that commented in February.

First post of the month!
$36.00 is good. I hope you will eventually implement the concept where people can click on a charity of their choice when they fill out a comment box. By the way, I’m not implying that Carbon Fund is an unworthy charity. I just think that more people may be motivated if they can choose between a few. It will make people feel like they are a part of a democratic process or something.
Speaking of choices, I have purchased 2 issues of GOOD magazine. I am now ready to subscribe to it, but I am torn between a few of the charities to donate my subscription money to! Darn.

Congratulations on a successful January. I like this idea a lot, and I hope to see something like it implemented on more sites in the future.

Kellie - This is definitely going to happen - the coordination of the project and the time to work on it is being worked on. Everyone is just so busy - it makes it really hard to take on these sorts of project. Rest assured though, it will be happening in the near future.
Cory - Thanks so much, I hope so as well.
