Flash Development for the ACLU
8.09.05 @ 11:17 amThe new website for the ACLU Freedom Files launched this morning. I was lucky enough to have the chance to do some Flash development for the project (see the top header with the tabs).
It was a pleasure working with the designers of the Flash header and being able to code it into reality for them.

I am proud to be a card carrying member of the ACLU. I have been disappointed by how many anti-ACLU BLOGS there are out here. Thank you for making the world a better place for EVERYONE.

Flash development for ACLU
As posted at somerandomdude.net, I had the pleasure to do some Flash development for the ACLU. The project was fast and furious, but I couldn’t have had a better time with the designers of the Flash project they asked me…

don’t be disappointed.
aclu is blocking jessica’s law.
i’m only assuming it’s because the law would infringe on a pedophile’s rights.

I’m not going to go into a political tirade here but I find it very unfortunate that people find it bad that an organization is concerned about the civil rights of our citizens.
It’s easy to want to protect the rights of ‘normal’ citizens, the beginning of the loss of rights comes from the easy targets (the poor, those who hold different ideologies, and yes - the criminals).
To have an institution that acts as a check-and-balance system is, more than ever, important in our society. Whether I agree or disagree with this individual situation holds no weight in my belief in how important an organization like the ACLU is. Today it’s the criminal’s rights that are infringed upon. Without a counter force, tomorrow it’s yours.
