Photo-correction in Photoshop CS2: Some handy droplets
2.03.06 @ 8:47 pmIf you are into photography, then you most likely have had some experience with color correction. If you are still using film, then you definitely have experience with image cleaning. Through the years, I have spent way too much time drudging through the same menial tasks to get my photos where I want them to be before I display them. I finally said enough is enough and created some action sets in Photoshop CS2 to make my life easier. Below is a quick example:

After Color Correction
Let me make this clear - there is no set of actions that work perfectly for every photo. Nonetheless, I’ve noticed these sets of actions work very well particularly for sunny outside shots. I still highly suggest to tweak each setting for best results. I’ve also included two droplets for photo cleaning. Once again, this is not going to forever free you from the Clone Stamp, but it may make life a bit easier. There are two versions, one for high resolution photos (3000px and above) and low resolution photos (2400px and below).
UPDATE: People have asked me how to use droplets - my mistake on not explaining this. A droplet is a set of actions that is compiled similat to a .BAT file. All you have to do is drag the file(s) onto the droplet and it will take it from there. You need a working copy of Photoshop CS2 to run these droplets. I’m not sure about droplet compatability, so I’m just going to play it safe bringing that up. Lastly, make sure your files are in a color mode where Photoshop can make these alterations - I would suggest defaulting to RGB mode.
I hope this makes life a bit easier for folks - while I would never want my photo correction to be completely automated, these actions have made them much easier.

[…] Photo Correction ATN File Available Tags: actions atn file photo editing Photography photoshopA while back I offered up some photo correction Photoshop droploets for download. Quite a few people downloaded them to whom I hope they’re working nicely. A few days ago when I was getting some photos ready to upload to my Flickr account, I all my Photoshop actions magically disappeared. I think you can imagine my frustration with both Photoshop for “forgetting” about the created actions and myself for not saving them. […]

ran into a great piece of software that does all corrections automatically without having to lift a finger. U might want to give it a try at www.photobot.com
Photobot instantly corrects brightness, red eye and clarity. All you need to do is to install the program, thereafter all pictures will be found, corrected and saved either on your computer or uploaded automatically to ur Swiss Picture Bank.
Can’t get any easyer and the results are amazing

Thanks for the droplet explaination. I believe not everybody knows droplet is and how it’s work… I’d be nice if you make it more clear on how to install and how to use it.
Or, maybe I should post an article on my blog - how to create, install and use droplet
Anyway, thanks for the tips and downloadable material
