This Week’s Weekly Links of the Week - Week 1
18.05.06 @ 9:00 am
I have been wanting a place to drop interesting links on my blog on things that tickle my fancy. At this point, there is no place in my blog to do this which I am honestly fine with as I want this site to be concise and focused. That being said, I thought it may be a good idea to bring back something I used to do pre-somerandomdude: Have a link(s) post on a weekly(ish) basis. It may be one link with some discussion, a collection of links on a particular topic or just your basic random list of links. Participation is not only welcome, it is highly desired.
So, onto the links!
- Design Magazines Online - Functioning Form
- Ironically, the first link in this list is a link to a list of links… Try saying that fast five times. I try to frequent many of these online design mags as often as possible - this really is a very comprehensive and well put together compilation of links.
- Design Writing Research
- I could spend hours at this site endlessly reading such great design articles. This one is a must-bookmark.
- Design Crisis - Andy Rutledge
- I love this guy. I simultaneously agree and disagree vehemently with this article as well as many others he has written - a testament to Andy’s ideas and writing. His article touches on the subject of design trends which I wrote about around the same time. Definitely worth a read.
- The Art of Not Giving a Shit - Steve Tucker
- Speaking of design trends, here is another article on the same subject. Another post well worth the time to read.
- Javascript Tetris - Dustin Diaz
- You know the rule - if something can be done, someone will do it. Seriously, this is some fine work by Mr. Diaz.
- MacBook Review - CNET
- I really do not see how my wife and I will not be getting one (or two) of these eventually. After seeing how much more you get for just $100 more than an iBook, it is hard to keep the money in your wallet.
- 9Rules Round 4 Has Finished - 9Rules
- It will be interesting to see who gets chosen.
Well, that is it for this week. I have kept it pretty generic this time. If anyone has any particular topics they would like to have addressed, let me know.
9rules, andy rutledge, apple, cnet, design magazines, design trends, dustin diaz, javascript, links, macbook, steve tucker, tetris weekly

Yeah, I missed it as well. Instead of dropping a link sporadically, I will just compile a list through the week and post it whenever I feel the list is comprehensive enough. Plus, this will make it easier to post at least once a week if I am having a hard time thinking of a topic.
Talk about killing several birds with one stone.

Some great links there. I particularly liked the Design Crisis article by Andy Rutledge and spent best part of an hour getting level 14 on tetris! Cheers mate
