Even with the low July comment totals we might as well still give away a GOOD magazine subscription. Out resident smart-ass Wild Guess is taking home the prize this time - meaning I get to blow $20 on him… Lovely.
All sarcasm aside, I am really glad to give Wild Guess a little thank-you gift as he brings quite a bit of interesting discussion around this blog in a different style than many other commenters. He definitely deserves a spiffy magazine to keep him busy.
I am planning to put a lot more time into some serious articles in August which will definitely increase the amount of comments. Traffic and return visitors were up in July, I just did not provide any content that encouraged discussion. So keep checking in during August and be a part of the discussion - you might just get yourself a new magazine subscription.

Leave it to GOOD Magazine to come up with something that wreaks of this much awesomeness. We all know internet porn accounts for quite a bit of the traffic on the web, but never have the bare facts been revealed in such a provocative manner. This video is semi-suitable for work, depending on your job and its atmosphere. If you are Pat Robertson’s receptionist, I would suggest not viewing this video at the office.
If you dig that video, I can tell you from experience that GOOD has a whole lot more of that goodness in their magazine. I would normally suggest going over and buying a subscription, but I have an even better idea - get it for free. I am giving a free subscription to GOOD to the top commenter every month. You can be just like Kellie and have your own year-long subscription to GOOD just by dropping some comments. Don’t forget, comments here also spread some love as well.awesomeness, free subscription, good, Good Magazine, goodness, internet, internet porn, love, pat robertson, porn, provocative manner, receptionist, traffic web

Well, just as promised, the top commenter for the month of June received a year-long subscription to GOOD magazine. For anyone that frequents this site even in the slightest, I think you know who got it… For those of you who do not know, Kellie is one magazine subscription richer - she has given so much to this blog that this prize does not seem enough. Still, this is the blog’s little way of saying thank you for all the contributions.
So, as you might be able to discern from the title, I am going to keep this up on a monthly basis - as long as people keep commenting. All you have to do is be the top commenter (excluding Kellie) for the month, live in the US or Canada (GOOD does not ship to any other countries) and you will have yourself some very good reading material. This is not a popularity contest - you can vehemently disagree with me all you want. As long as you are the top commenter and have no already gotten a subscription, you will be the big winner.blog, comment love, Good Magazine, june 2007, magazine subscription, subscription thank you

June’s Comment Love came close to the $50 thanks to a couple posts that garnered quite a bit of discussion. There were 94 comments this month which totaled $47.00. All $47.00 was donated to Carbonfund.org this month.
With this month’s contribution, we offset 22,210 miles driven from a car with the average miles per gallon (25.2 mpg) or 8.55 tons of C02 according to Carbonfund.org. We broke $50 last month and were just a sliver away this month - I am very happy about that. I think a lot of the responsibility for keeping these numbers up is on me in order to write articles that drive discourse - I will really be pushing that aspect of this site from this point on.
I also have no forgotten about the Good Magazine give-away feature for this month… I will be posting that later today.
Thank you to all who have commented!average miles per gallon, c02, carbonfund, comment love, comments, discourse, donations, global warming, Good Magazine, love, miles per gallon mpg

I think by now many folks that frequent this site know that I am putting a lot of time into clever ways of giving back through this blog. Comment Love has been a lot of fun to keep up, but I really do not want to stop there. A few months ago, I subscribed to GOOD Magazine and have absolutely loved it. For those of you that personally know me, to think that I would actually read a magazine, let alone enjoy it is more than a slight surprise. However, GOOD’s content hits a area of deep passion for myself and I would like to share it with the readers of this site.
