Comment Love for July 2008

August 6th, 2008

Well, as expected, the posts are not frequent while I work on the redesign of this blog. Surprisingly, last month still had 30 comments - totaling $15.00 of Comment Love. All $15.00 was donated to KQED.

I will be dropping the amount of working hours per week in the next week or two which will help speed up the redesign process. The design is already at the point where I could implement a beta if I was not as concerned about getting all the details right. I hope to write a little about the process in the coming weeks. Thanks to all who have commented even with my lack of updates., , , ,

Comment Love for February 2008

March 3rd, 2008

I am still trying to find the right balance for commitment on this blog until things settle down. I was a bit infrequent in updates during February 2008, but we still had 35 comments - totaling $16.50 of Comment Love. All $16.50 was donated to KQED.

My blog break still has not fully kicked in, as can be seen with relatively frequent blog posts. Still, I can assure you that it will be coming soon. I am hoping that some guest posts will be coming - it is looking rather likely that it will in fact happen. My hope is that, even with the lack of posts from me, we will get above the $20 or $30 mark - something that has not happened in a while.

Fingers crossed…

Comment Love for December 2007

January 1st, 2008

It took me a while to post this, although I post-dated it at December 31. Because I had not made many posts during December, I decided to donate $30 to KQED for a little extra Comment Love karma.

The good news is that the traffic is definitely starting to go back up. The bad news is that the amount of comments do not seem to be following the traffic. With a little luck, that will change in the coming weeks and we will be seeing $50 donations once again.

Here’s to a good January.

Comment Love for May 2007

June 1st, 2007

As mentioned, we hit the $50 mark for May 2007 and actually got a little more on top of it. The total Comment Love for last month was $52.50 - all of which was donated to KQED. I will most likely start cutting off any future Comment Love totals at the $50 mark, but I was so excited to finally reach this goal that I wanted to keep it going.

This was a really exciting event for me. I am starting to notice more and more people taking notice on what we are doing at this site - hitting this mark gives me feel that this idea is heading in the right direction. Thank you so much to everyone that commented this month (and every month prior)., , , ,

Comment Love for March 2007

April 2nd, 2007

Comment Love for March was a bit of a disappointment. March ended up being the largest month of traffic ever for this blog, but the amount of donations still ended up being lower than average. I think this has a lot to do with the extremely low amount of full-fledged articles written this month - I am going to have to pick up the pace. Ironically, the daily post method is bringing significantly more traffic to the site, but with less time to devote to longer articles, there is actually less participation. Go figure.

Still, the comments for March generated $31.00 to KQED. I am really going to put more effort into getting more vetted articles out from this point on, even if I have to miss a day (or two) of posting. I have a feeling this is going to really help out, please share your feelings if you feel otherwise. At this point, the only break from blogging I have is during the weekend. After a few months of experience, I have learned quickly that the weekend does not end up being a good time to write articles. If you are around my age (or older), then you are well aware that the weekend is anything but a break from work - it is just a break from the work at your job. So, there may be slightly fewer articles during the week to hopefully open up some time to get greater substance and, hopefully, more comments.

Here’s hoping that our fellow Comment Love partner ended up being more fruitful for March.
