UPDATE: The FLA actually works as advertised now.
I try to take some time out to work on math-based motion now and then since it is not always my strongest point. I have become so enamored with the Tween class that those sorts of techniques have atrophied a bit. For the past few weeks, I have been working on micro-projects - I am still unsure why it took me this long to start putting them on the blog.
This little motion treatment is pretty basic, but highly addictive to watch. I have caught myself staring at this for 10 minutes at a time. Honestly, it is quite hypnotic. The math is not too difficult, but I am still not entirely happy with the motion - it could still use a bit of tweaking. Still, I thought it was good enough to share. The length, count, colors and motion are entirely random, so feel free to reload the page plenty of times.
You need to upgrade your Flash Player
The code is far from pretty, but I really do not see the use in cleaning up little tests such as these. Nonetheless, if you are interested, the zipped-up FLA is available to download. Any comments/thoughts on how to improve it are very welcome.
