Critique and the future
So the critque was an old fashion, teacher reaming, a real wake up call. It looked as if most of my class had not done very much for the past 2 weeks. The teachers gave good feedback but it was really hard. The things they were saying would have been helpful a week ago. I don't know...this kick in the pants was good but not well timed.
My review went okay, not as harsh as others. Just some logistical things to revise amongst some other form stuff:
General
1. People will key in on the model more than the boards >
Hierarchy= model / animation / boards
2. Scenario context....what makes my chair vital?
Auntie M and Steve photo shoot. Sitting in seats that match the dimesions and movements = adjusting, leaning back, using button, tray tables, magazine sachel
3. What are my design points and how can I point them out? = Emotion, feeling, comfort!
4. Money shot of my chair with callouts => print this out really big....
maybe 1:1 ratio?
5. Swing arm dining tray?
Specifics
1. Raise the luggage bar so that it does not look like a support...or use it as support and fit luggage under. > Depends on if i decide to use a secon pillar (and I probably will).
2. More fuller and wider screen. less exagerated of 9x16? whatever will work for the proportions appropriately with my back rest.
3. Possibly show a sandwhich of materials. etiher a model/physical representation or Alias it. A real model of course would be better.
4. Second pillar so that this fucking thing does not break.
5. Render the inner superstructure of the chair. Then have an outline of the chair around it to give it context.

the seat renderings are quite interesting, although they don't visually look any more comfortable than the current airline chairs. yes yes, i know looks can be deceiving......
my favorite rendering is the line drawing. looks good as a piece of art.
i like your process overall. the research is so damn in depth. you totally made this project as real as possible. good job.
